Registration: www.aachen.ihk.de \nThe “Innovation Day”: “Usability” is an event of the Euregio Chambers Meuse-Rhine in cooperation with the digitalHUB Aachen. \nJan Borchers is full professor of computer science and head of the Chair for Media Computing and Human-Computer Interaction\, which he founded at RWTH Aachen University in Germany in 2003 after holding faculty positions at Stanford University and ETH Zurich. He has more than 20 years of experience in usability through research\, teaching\, training\, consulting\, and development\, for clients such as AirBus\, Apple\, ARD\, Bayer\, Children’s Museum Boston\, Daimler\, Handelsblatt\, OTIS\, Scout24\, TEDx\, and Deutsche Telekom. For his “captivating lectures”\, he was voted RWTH’s Computer Science Teacher of the Year in 2015. His group is one of Germany’s best-published research groups at CHI\, the premier international conference on user interface research\, and he established Germany’s first Fab Lab with free access to 3D printers and other tools of digital fabrication in 2009\, and since 2016 he is Germany’s first university professor to teach Personal Fabrication in the Fab Academy together with the M.I.T. In his spare time\, he enjoys playing pool and jazz piano.
