At Optiver, our teams tackle complex coding problems every day \u2014 designing algorithms that must perform under the pressure of fast-moving financial markets. Now it\u2019s your turn to take on the challenge.<\/p>\n
Optiver is inviting students to join a hands-on workshop where you\u2019ll build a trading algorithm in Python that competes in real-time against other teams on our simulated exchange, Optibook. Your mission? Create an algorithm that helps companies expand into new markets and compete to have the best-performing solution. While PnL (profit and loss) is a factor, it\u2019s not the only criteria Optiver will use to determine the winner.<\/p>\n
This workshop is a simplified but realistic version of the daily work at Optiver. You\u2019ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how trading really works, life at a trading firm, and the skills to build and test your own trading algorithm.<\/p>\n
No prior trading experience? No problem. This session is designed for beginners \u2014 Optiver will explain the basics of trading and finance, and their team will be on hand to support you throughout the challenge.<\/p>\n
