Am Montag, den 30. Juni, läuten die Initiator:innen offiziell die vierte Ausgabe der STARTUP WEEK AACHEN ein. Über 30 Events rund um Gründung, Innovation und Digitalisierung bringen vom 30. Juni bis 4. Juli die Aachener- und Euregio-Startup-Szene zusammen.
Den Auftakt macht das Eröffnungsevent im digitalHUB Aachen – geprägt von vielfältigen Impulsen, offenem Austausch mit erfahrenen Gründer:innen sowie der Verleihung des Startup Spirit Aachen Awards.
Einen praxisnahen Einstieg liefert Prof. Dr. Frank Piller mit seinem Impulsvortrag „Fail sooner to succeed faster: 5 konkrete Tools für erfolgreiche Unternehmer:innen“. Darin zeigt er, wie sich unternehmerische Ideen schneller und gezielter testen lassen – und wie sich der eigene Suchraum für neue Opportunitäten erweitern lässt. Vorgestellt werden sowohl bewährte als auch neue Werkzeuge für erfolgreiche Innovationen, die Startups helfen, klüger zu scheitern und schneller voranzukommen.
Frank Piotraschke, Alumnus der FH Aachen und Chief Revenue Officer bei SoSafe, gibt in seiner Keynote einen inspirierenden Einblick unter dem Titel: „Wie haben wir aus Köln heraus eine globale Cybersecurity Company gebaut, die selbst die NATO sicherer macht?“
Er erzählt, wie Mut, Unternehmergeist und ein radikaler Fokus auf den Menschen SoSafe zu einem der führenden Security-Awareness-Anbieter in Europa gemacht haben – und warum echte Innovation oft dort entsteht, wo andere zuerst „zu riskant“ sagen. Ein inspirierender Vortrag für alle, die groß denken wollen, ohne ins Silicon Valley zu müssen – und die bereit sind, den Sprung zu wagen.
Im Anschluss spricht Magdalena Gorecki mit Aachener Gründer:innen von MOQO, Concept-e solutions, ivilion, o11 biomedical und upstair im Format „Real Questions. Real Founders. Real Talk.“ Über unternehmerische Themenfelder und sorgt für eine lockere, aber tiefgründige Gesprächsatmosphäre.
Die Verleihung des Startup Spirit Aachen Awards bildet den Abschluss des Bühnenprogramms, wonach es mit einem offenen Networking Brunch weitergeht – eine Gelegenheit für Austausch, neue Kontakte und einen gelungenen Start in eine inspirierende Woche.

On Monday, 30. June, the initiators will kick off the fourth edition of the STARTUP WEEK AACHEN. From 30. June to 4. July, the Aachen Area and Euregio start-up scene will come together for over 30 events focusing on start-ups, innovation and digitalization.
The opening event at digitalHUB Aachen will kick things off – characterized by a variety of impulses, open exchange with experienced founders and the presentation of the Startup Spirit Aachen Award.
At the event, Prof. Dr. Frank Piller provides a practical introduction titled “Fail sooner to succeed faster: 5 concrete tools for successful entrepreneurs”. In it, he shows how entrepreneurial ideas can be tested faster and in a more targeted manner – and how you can expand your own search space for new opportunities. Both tried-and-tested and new tools for successful innovations are presented, which help start-ups to fail smarter and move forward faster.
Frank Piotraschke, alumnus of FH Aachen and Chief Revenue Officer at SoSafe, will give an inspiring insight in his keynote speech titled: “How did we build a global cybersecurity company out of Cologne that makes even NATO safer?”
He will explain how courage, entrepreneurial spirit and a radical focus on people have made SoSafe one of the leading security awareness providers in Europe – and why real innovation often arises where others first say “too risky”. An inspiring talk for anyone who wants to think big without having to go to Silicon Valley – and who is ready to take the risk.
Afterwards, Magdalena Gorecki talks to Aachen founders from MOQO, Concept-e solutions, ivilion, o11 biomedical und upstair in the format “Real Questions. Real Founders. Real Talk.” on entrepreneurial topics and ensures a relaxed but in-depth discussion atmosphere.
The presentation of the Startup Spirit Aachen Award will conclude the stage program, after which the event will continue with an open networking brunch – an opportunity for exchange, new contacts and a successful start to an inspiring week.
